What are my options?

Who Doesn't Love a Cake!
 I design custom cakes (cookies and cupcakes too), for all kinds of occasions. I am able to work with all kinds of price ranges and order sizes, and will do my best to find the best fit for you between decoration and cost. Cakes are my specialty, ranging from tier cakes, to always-fun wonky cakes, single level standard cakes, as well as custom shapes!
I need something unique, any ideas?
Wonky cakes and carved cakes are becoming very popular, even for formal occasions. Carved cakes are excellent for specific themes, they can either be 2D (example a single layer carved like a fish) or 3D stand up (such as a car or a castle, or a princess doll cake).
 









But I need to save money...
Cookies and cupcakes are a fun way to have a lower cost (plus less dishes, yet still be unique to your event.


...AND serve a lot of people!
Cookies can be made standard, or turned in cookie-pops and then made into bouquets! A fun thank-you, or get well soon gift, also excellent as super unique party favors and prizes! (Plus no refrigeration needed!...this can be VERY handy at times). They are easy to serve in high quantity, and keep for longer periods of time than cakes and cupcakes. 




Cupcakes are super cute and very versatile, they can be very formal or fun and casual. They can be iced and decorated completely individually, sets with mixed themes, stacked like a cake, or solidly iced like a single level cake. These are fun at children's parties, or events with lots of guests. 


 I just can't decide on an idea!?!?!
Cupcakes and cookies have the versatility as well to be all unique or have a few different themes going on, if you can't decide on just one idea.




So whats on top?
I work with buttercream (main), royal icing, and fondant. I enjoy intricate piping and decoration done with buttercream and then accenting my cakes with royal icing and fondant decorations. Cupcakes are flavored buttercream, again with royal icing and fondant decorations available. Cookies are covered in royal icing using special icing methods, which is how they can be so intricate and have such clear designs.

And whats inside?
Cakes & Cupcakes 
My cakes have a very wide variety or flavors, colors, and fillings. The standards are vanilla (any color), chocolate, and lemon (many colors). Marbling is nice for making your cake look fancy, even if the outside is simple, or if you have mixed color themes, or you just can't pick between the chocolate and vanilla! For a standard cake the layers are separated by any color of buttercream icing, chocolate, lemon, or vanilla flavor. My cakes are all scratch made (never box) and the standard flavors are basic pound cake recipes as these are best for layering due to their density.

More unique or gourmet cake interiors are available feel free to do your own research and find something that would really suit you or your guests, or ask me about certain flavors and fillings you like and I will check my recipe stock. For this I would recommend a cake tasting. 
Any cake recipe is also available for cupcakes, but not vice versa if you are coming to me with your own research. The same goes for fillings, cupcakes have a much larger option for fillings (if you want any), as they are filled after cooling. 

The standard filling for cupcakes is buttercream (again with the standard flavorings), but the options are almost endless: chocolate fudge, dulce du leche (if you don't know what that is...you'll never go back once you do), peanut butter, various fruit jelly fillings, crunchy bits, even surprises for kids such as smarties, gummy bears...really any small candy that fits. Picture (gummy) worms crawling out of Halloween cupcakes, or biting into pop rocks for a new years theme!

About those cookies...
I use a standard sugar cookie or ginger cookie recipe for all my cookies, as it is made specifically to not lose it's shape in the oven. The sugar cookie can be flavored (within my flavoring means without wrecking the recipe) and colored any way, while the ginger cookie is nice for seasonal events and a different contrast with the icing.

I also have made my cakes unique before by mixing cupcakes and layer cakes together for dimension. The possibilities are endless, you can either come to me with very specific ideas or just the size and type of event and let me do the rest!
